Secondly, we can happily say that our new research project “Paper Bodies” is part of the #TakeHeart Research Fund Supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media within the program NEUSTART KULTUR.

This offers us the opportunity to dive deeply into the materiality of paper and its creative, corporal and imaginary potentials.

How many ways are there to tell the same story?

We are happy to announce that we have received the NPN – Stepping Out Funding as part of the Neustart Kultur program of the German ministry of Culture.

As a result we will be re-adapting our performance “A meeting that never took place” for the exhibition space Vierte Welt Berlin, where we will be exploring new versions of the same story.

Watch this place for our upcoming performances.

The performance exhibition unfolds a selection of written stories, live performance and videos dealing with the question of how to encounter a body that is not here. It is part of a larger living archive of Stories of Absence reflecting on the experience of someone being there and not there at the same time. The contributions are from artists from nineteen different countries all over the world and have been created in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemics. The exhibition is realized in collaboration with visual artist and filmmaker Ester Eva Damen and architectural designer Joris Berger.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Dear colleagues, friends, and people we don’t know yet,

Although the artistic research project Imagined Choreographies didn’t emerge from the current situation we are experiencing globally with the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot help but see a potential link. The situation we (Ilana and Sabrina) had put ourselves in voluntarily back in July 2018 out of an artistic choice, has now become a reality for people all over the world. The initial question of how to encounter a body that is not here becomes relevant to many of us in one way or another.

We would therefore love to here your stories of absence!

If you are interested in participating please read our Open Call below!

Cheers! Ilana and Sabrina
